About Festival
Makar Sankramana is a celebration of the occasion of the ‘ascent’ of the sun to the north (Uttarayana) .  On this day, the people exchange till and jaggery as a token of their love and affection. It is the day of goodwill and friendship. Sesame Ladoos and sugar drops are distributed as a symbol of the need to be generous and kind to everyone.

On this people wear new cloth and share sweets and gifts.Some people take the holy dip in the sacred waters is believed to cleanse the soul.
