In Madhya Pradesh Ghadlya Festival is celebrated by the girls. On this day girls are gather in the evening and visit every house of the village and they carrying earthen pots with holes for the light to come out, made by a wick oil lamp kept inside.This pot is called ‘Ghadlya’ which means a horse, as it is known in Malwa.They visit to each home in their locality and sing songs. After complete the recital of songs they return and get foodstuff or coins.

Boy’s festival is known as Chhala. In Bundelkhand, it is identified as Tesoo.
