About Festival
Durgamma Festival is celebrated in Medak District of Andhra Pradesh India.It is a 4 day festival and fall in the month of Bhadrapada, which is the month of September.

First day of festival, the water for worship is brought from a near by river Majira.


Second day of festival a buffalo intended for sacrifice is taken to the river. People worshipping the water-goddess and after the buffalo is washed there


Next day the Several fowls, goats, ram, buffalo is sacrificed and after that devotees sacrifice innumerable jowls, goats, rams and buffaloes. And ‘Kumbham which is a heap of cooked rice, along with the sacrificial meat, is offered to the deity.


On the 4th day celebration is marked with ‘Bonalu’ procession with carts and bullocks decorated with flowers and colored saris, which are taken around the temple.

On the day of Festival Carts and bullocks decorated with flowers and coloured sarees are taken round the temple. Prasadam is distributed. A fair is held here during the festival.
