About Festival
Arattupuzha Pooram Festival is celebrated in the Arattupuzha temple in Trichur district of Kerala it is just 14 kms from Thrissur. It is the oldest pooram festival in Kerala. The ‘ezhunnellippu’ or procession of the thidambu’ or ‘idol of the Arattupuzha Sastha include sixty caparisoned elephants bearing muthukkudas( silken parasols) and venchamarams (white tufts ) .make for a glorious sight.
